  • 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 teaspoon Maple Extract extra tablespoon of maple syrup can substitute
  • 1 3/4 cups All-Purpose Flour can be substituted with gluten-free flour
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg can be replaced with ginger or omitted
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar (for rolling)

Method
 

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together ½ cup of unsalted butter, ½ cup of granulated sugar, and ½ cup of light brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in 1 large egg yolk, 2 tablespoons of light corn syrup, 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon of maple extract until smooth.
  4. Whisk together 1 ¾ cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, ½ teaspoon of ground nutmeg, ½ teaspoon of baking soda, and a pinch of salt.
  5. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until just mixed.
  6. Shape the dough into 1.5-inch balls and roll in granulated sugar.
  7. Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheets, spaced 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers are soft.
  9. Cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
