Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with olive oil.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and brown the ground beef for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cook until onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Layer the beef mixture in the baking dish, top with sliced potatoes, and season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  5. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over potatoes, pour in broth or water, and drizzle with milk if using.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  8. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.
