For the Chicken
  • 1 pound Skinless Boneless Chicken Breasts Cut into 1-inch pieces.
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Freshly Ground Black Pepper Optional.
  • 2 Large Eggs Beaten.
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour.
  • 1/2 cup Cornstarch No substitutes.
  • Cooking Spray Olive Oil For spraying the air fryer.
For the Sauce
  • 1 cup Orange Juice Fresh preferred.
  • 1/2 cup Packed Light Brown Sugar Adjust to taste.
  • 1/4 cup Low-Sodium Soy Sauce or Tamari Use tamari for gluten-free.
  • 2 tablespoons Rice Vinegar Apple cider vinegar can substitute.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger Minced.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes Optional.
  • 1 teaspoon Toasted Sesame Oil Can substitute with another oil.
  • 2 Scallions Sliced For garnish.
  • 1 tablespoon Toasted Sesame Seeds For garnish.

Cooking Steps
  1. Cut chicken into 1-inch pieces, season with kosher salt and black pepper.
  2. Beat eggs in a bowl and dip each chicken piece in the egg, then dredge in a mix of flour and cornstarch.
  3. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Spray basket with olive oil, arrange chicken in a single layer and air fry for 10 minutes, flipping halfway.
  4. While chicken cooks, combine orange juice, brown sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes in a saucepan. Simmer until thickened (about 10 minutes).
  5. Transfer air-fried chicken to a bowl, pour sauce over and toss to coat.
  6. Serve over rice or quinoa, garnished with scallions and sesame seeds.
