Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, melt 1 cup of butter over low heat. Stir in both granulated and brown sugars until smooth.
- Add in 4 eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition until glossy and slightly warm.
- Sift together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 3/4 cup of cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt. Fold into the wet mixture gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are set and center remains slightly soft.
- In a clean saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 cup of granulated sugar until it turns amber. Remove from heat and whisk in 1/2 cup heavy cream and 4 tablespoons butter cautiously.
- Whisk in 1 teaspoon of sea salt to the caramel and set aside to cool slightly.
- Once brownies are cooled, drizzle the salted caramel generously over them and spread evenly.
- Allow caramel to set for 10-15 minutes before slicing into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
