Ingredients

For the Pears
  • 4 pieces Bosc Pears Anjou or Bartlett pears can be substituted
  • 2 tablespoons Butter Softened
  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup Adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon Substitute with nutmeg or ginger if desired
  • 1/4 cup Apple Cider Unfiltered is best
For the Topping
  • 1 cup Cottage Cheese Or whipped ricotta or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon Orange Zest Or lemon zest if preferred
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Food Processor

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by halving the Bosc pears lengthwise and carefully scooping out the seeds with a small spoon. This step allows the sweetness of the pears to shine through.
  2. Place the halved pears in your air fryer basket lined with parchment paper. Spoon softened butter into the hollowed centers, brushing the tops with more butter. Drizzle with maple syrup and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  3. Pour the apple cider into the air fryer basket surrounding the pears. Set to 350°F and cook for 18-20 minutes, checking for doneness at 15 minutes. They should be tender and caramelized.
  4. While the pears cook, blend cottage cheese, maple syrup, orange zest, and vanilla in a food processor until smooth and fluffy.
  5. Once cooked, let the pears cool slightly and garnish each half with a dollop of the creamy topping. Optional: sprinkle cinnamon or drizzle more maple syrup before serving.
