  2. Add the egg and almond extract, mix for about 1 minute until smooth.
  3. Combine flour and kosher salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the wet ingredients.
  4. Roll the dough into 1-ounce balls, place on a baking sheet, and flatten them slightly.
  5. Press your thumb into the center of each ball to create an indentation.
  6. Fill each thumbprint with about a teaspoon of jam.
  7. Refrigerate the baking sheet for about 15–20 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F and bake for approximately 15 minutes.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
