Step-by-Step Instructions
- Start by bringing 4 cups of filtered water to a rolling boil in a medium-sized pot. Once it reaches a boil, promptly remove it from the heat.
- Add 4 black tea bags to the hot water before whisking in 3/4 to 1 cup of raw honey, depending on your desired sweetness. Stir gently until the honey dissolves.
- After the tea has steeped and cooled, take 2 whole lemons and squeeze their juice into the mixture, catching any seeds.
- Carefully discard the tea bags from the pot, and if you’ve zested the lemons beforehand, remove that as well.
- Strain the tea mixture into a large pitcher, which will catch any remaining lemon pulp or tea fragments. Fill the pitcher with ice to chill the tea rapidly.
- Place the pitcher of homemade iced tea in the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
- When ready to serve, pour the iced tea into glasses filled with ice cubes and garnish each glass with lemon slices or fresh mint leaves.
