- Cook the pasta in salted boiling water for 10-12 minutes until al dente. Drain and cool in a bowl of cold water.
- Prepare the beef filling by cooking ground beef in a skillet until browned. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent.
- Mix the cheese filling by combining ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, and a beaten egg in a bowl. Season with salt, pepper, basil, and oregano.
- Stuff the shells with the beef and ricotta mixture. Place in a baking dish with marinara sauce.
- Pour remaining marinara sauce on top and sprinkle with extra mozzarella cheese.
- Bake covered in foil at 375°F for 25 minutes, then uncovered for 10 minutes until bubbly.
- Let the dish rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil or Parmesan.
