Step-by-Step Instructions
- Begin by cutting the brioche or challah bread into thick slices, about 1 inch in thickness. Arrange these slices in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, allowing them to overlap slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the large eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
- Pour the custard mixture over the arranged bread, ensuring each slice is drenched thoroughly. Press the slices down gently with a spatula.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the cover from the baking dish and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Once baked, remove the dish from the oven and sprinkle an even layer of granulated sugar over the top. Using a kitchen torch, carefully caramelize the sugar.
- Allow the Crème Brûlée French Toast to cool slightly before slicing it into generous portions. Serve warm with fresh berries and maple syrup.

Notes
Make the custard the night before for added flavor. Monitor closely when caramelizing to prevent burning.
