  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar light or dark
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Ground Ginger
  • 1 cup Warm Milk 120-130°F
  • 2 Large Eggs room temperature
  • 1/4 cup Softened Butter
  • 1/2 cup Molasses may substitute with maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract pure preferred
Filling Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon Ground Ginger
  • 1/4 cup Butter softened
  • 2 tablespoons Molasses
Frosting Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup Softened Butter very soft
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese full-fat preferred
  • 2 tablespoons Molasses
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract pure preferred
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar adjust to desired thickness

Method
 

Dough Instructions
  1. In a stand mixer, combine the dough ingredients and mix on low until combined, then knead on high speed for 4-5 minutes until smooth.
  2. Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let it rest in a warm area for about 20 minutes.
Filling Instructions
  1. While the dough is resting, mix together the filling ingredients in a medium bowl until a thick paste forms.
Roll Formation Instructions
  1. Lightly flour your work surface, roll out the dough into a 12x16-inch rectangle, spread the filling, and roll tightly. Slice into 12 pieces, then place in a greased baking dish.
  2. Cover the rolls with a towel, let them rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
Frosting Instructions
