- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
- Create a well in the dry mixture and pour in the wet ingredients: pumpkin puree, water, oil or almond butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and optionally sprinkle mini chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for about 40 minutes until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Allow cooling in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool further.
