Step-by-Step Instructions

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
  3. Create a well in the dry mixture and pour in the wet ingredients: pumpkin puree, water, oil or almond butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and optionally sprinkle mini chocolate chips on top.
  5. Bake for about 40 minutes until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  6. Allow cooling in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool further.
