- In a 6-quart slow cooker, combine the broth, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and smashed garlic. Mix until the sugar dissolves.
- Season the beef chuck roast generously with salt and pepper and place it in the slow cooker. Pour some of the sauce over the top.
- Cover and cook on LOW for about 8 hours until the beef is tender.
