Step‑by‑Step Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally to dissolve the butter.
- Once boiling, reduce heat and gradually stir in 1 cup of plain flour until a smooth and thick dough forms. Remove from heat.
- Allow the dough to cool for about 4-5 minutes, then mix in 1 large egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence until smooth.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and pipe small churro shapes onto baking parchment.
- Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick spray and transfer churro bites. Lightly brush with melted butter and air fry for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove churro bites and roll in a mixture of 1 cup of white sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon powder.
- Serve warm as a delightful snack or dessert, optionally with chocolate syrup or honey.
