Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • shallow dish

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, heat a splash of oil over medium heat. Add 1 pound of lean ground beef, breaking it up as you go. Stir in 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 2 tablespoons of hoisin sauce. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the beef is browned and cooked through.
  2. Once the beef is cooked, add in 1 cup of shredded carrots and 1 cup of chopped bell peppers. Stir well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  3. Fill a shallow dish or bowl with warm water. One at a time, submerge a rice paper wrapper for about 10-15 seconds.
  4. Place a few fresh basil leaves and a generous spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of the rice paper wrapper. Fold the sides in over the filling, then roll from the bottom up to create a tight roll.
  5. Arrange your freshly made Thai Basil Beef Rolls on a serving platter. Pair them with your choice of dipping sauces.
