Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan, melt ¾ cup of unsalted butter over medium heat, stirring frequently, until it turns golden brown with a nutty aroma.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled brown butter with ¾ cup soft brown sugar and ½ cup white sugar. Mix until smooth.
  3. Add 1 large room-temperature egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to the mixture. Stir until well combined.
  4. Gradually sift in 2 cups all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon baking soda, mixing gently. Fold in 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease your skillet and spread the cookie dough evenly. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and bake for 20 minutes.
